Okay, so, I went and changed the coils in my car and after that I couldn't start my car at all, I put the key in and turned it and got nothing. It ran before I changed the coils. My starter is good. I had it tested and it's a brand-new battery. I did some research online and found that if I remove the news and put a fuse in place of the news, I get a crank but no start. And it will crank all day or until the battery dies. Any info would be great as I can't get the car going. It's going to be towed if I can't get it to run. Also is there anyways to like to reset the cars system without a scan tool. I have a laptop with the programs, and I also have OBD2 connectors that hook to my laptop I just don't know how to use the programs. Please, I have owned this car for a year and haven't even driven it once. I paid like $800.00, back tags and need to get it smogged, but cannot due to it won't start. Please any help would greatly be appreciated.

So, the engine cranks but does not start or the engine will not turn over (starter)? It sounds like both sometimes. Can you please shoot a quick video with your phone so I can see what's going on? That way I can tell for sure what's going on. You can upload it here with your response.

I will also add that the battery is brand new and also the starter is good. Also when I changed the coil packs I had to replace the battery the car had no battery for like 2 days but that was after I tried to start the car after I changed the coil packs.

It sounds like one of the ignition coils is defective, I would try to disconnect one of the new coils at a time to see if the situation changes.

Does the engine have spark? Also, how does the engine sound when cranking over? Can you please shoot a quick video with your phone so I can hear the noise? That way I can tell for sure what's going on. You can upload it here with your response. Please use this video to check for spark.

Okay, I didn't see if it had spark so I will test that today. The car will not click or crank or try to start if the ews under the driver side dash by the obd2 port is connected. Once I take the ews off and put a fuse in the wire harness the car will crank like it wants to start for as long as the battery will hold charge. And it's a good strong crank but no start. Once I put the ews back into the car like it's supposed to be connected it won't do anything again no crank no click no nothing. But I will check if it has spark but the only way I can is if I keep the ews out if the car so it will crank.

We better run a CAN scan to see what codes come up, you can get a CAN scanner (Controller Area Network) which will work on most cars from Amazon.

here is a video to show you how:

and

Here is one for about $99.00 if you need it:

In the scanner can you go into the faults and get the numbers please? There are faults but it doesn't say what they are. Also can you make the image text larger, it is hard to read.
