Turn the key and no crank. I have pulled the starter and it tested good, battery has been load tested and good, checked all fuses and swapped relays around with known working relays. Replaced the neutral safety switch, which is also the gear position indicator. I did notice the gear position lights in the dash are not lighting up when the key is in the run position like usual. When I plugged my scan tool in the gear position lights come on and I can hear the starter solenoid click when I try to start. Car has an alarm and I have set the alarm with the fob, unlocked and no change. Locked and unlocked by key and no change. When the scan tool is not plugged in and I turn the key to run I can also hear the vacuum switch on the engine by the fuel pressure regulator rattling fast. This stops too when I plug in the scan tool. The scan tool cannot read the ECM either. The only driving issue I have had recently is the fuel level gauge stops working when I fill up, it starts working when I get under 3/4 full, code P0435 I believe. Fuel pump was replaced about a year ago.

Hey JONCARN,

It sounds like you might have an engine that is locked up, put a large socket on the front of the engine to see if it turns, next remove all of the spark plugs to see if it turns, it might have a blown head gasket.

here is a guide that will also help you

Please run some tests and get back to us so we can continue helping you.

I have already checked and the engine rotates normally. Plenty of oil too. It seems like I have a power leak but I just can't find it. I pulled the starter again and cleaned the grounding surfaces but nothing. I am getting 12v at the starter, and at all primary leads from the battery. Checked all the grounding points I could reach and all are secure. After I pulled the starter I was able to get my scan tool to communicate with the ECM, so it appears to be working. I am going to check the ignition switch tonight
