I was driving my car when I noticed it started to slow down, so I pressed the gas to try and speed up but it would not go. I turned my car off and switched it back on and press the gas again and it still would not go. My battery light and brake light was also on. What could be the problem?

Well the battery light usually means the alternator is not charging, If the system voltage gets low enough most of the control circuits shut down. That is probably why it slowed down and does not respond.
You need to have the battery and charging system tested for function. Many of the chain auto stores in the US will do that for free.

The brake light being on can be a lot of things. Low brake fluid, a section of the brakes could have failed, the parking brake could be barely on, some even light up if you have a bad brake light bulb.
