1997 Nissan Truck engine wont start

II was driving my truck and it died and would not start took to shop they said it jumped time they said it needed a new timming chain could this be true.

I don't think so-why don't you get some carb cleaner and shoot some inside the throttle body -did it start and die out? If so you have a fuel system problem. If not could be an ignition system/valve and ignition timing problem.
