Warped head on original engine (z24i) brother had an 86 with bad tranny so I pulled the engine from each and swapped them out, using the same intake and exaust that was on the truck. After completing the swap the truck will not fire, I was told the distributors were different, the 86 was carburated the orignial was tbi, so I swapped the timing chain cover and installed the original distributor and the same, no fire, I get a hot wire to the distributor and coils when the switch is turned on, but the plugs and the coils have no fire.

Check the IC ignition unit also called ignition control module in the distributor, its like the conventional contact point open and closes the primary circuit. If that goes southbound it will never fire.
