Car did not have enough power and seemed to get stuck in first gear about every 5th time I drove it.I was hooked up to computer and was told my catalytic converter was bad.I also had to replace a battery.I went back to my home town to get the work done with people we trust and then went to a transm. Specialist and the transmition checked out fine. Could these problems be from the emissions problem or a bad battery.I am returning to the city I live in and hate to get on highway, but wouldn't trans. Problem have been detected on the computer.
or could the emissions problem and a very corroded battery really cause problems

Hi mteresa,

A clogged catalytic converter can cause bad exhaust flow and greatly reduce the engine power so the trans will not operate well.

After replacing the catalytic converter, is the car running well now?

Trans problem might/might not show on the diagnostic dependning on the fault. Pressure related problems would not show, only electrical would.

Hi mteresa,

All are welcomed here and we would try our best to help in any possible way.

Gender is not a problem and I had no inkling who is asking and from where. Just trying to make sure whoever has a questiion is not disappointed.

If you have any questions just feel free to drop by.

Have a nice day :)
