2003 Nissan Micra SYSTEM RUNNING TOO LEAN

The ems light is on and when connected to diagnostics message is system runing too lean bank 1, I was told this was the oxygen sensor so I took it out and cleaned it after afew miles the ems light went off but came back on the next day with the same message the engine seems to tick over ok am wondering if this is indicating a tune up is required

Check for engine vacuum leak. Check/clean/replace the MAF sensor.

Thanks for that the light has gone out again I added a bottle of redex to the petrol tank and it seems to have done the trick- fingers crossed
