Yes it would. The computer would not be able to properly calculate airflow.

Hi River fitted the air box only to find I had a flat battery. Fully charged the battery went out and she started after the fourth attempt have a wining from fan belt and slight knocking on exhaust which I eradicated piece of tin cover around front pipe but this is my problem I have a thick white smoke coming out exhaust I've just checked oil and its barely touching dipstick is this the cause of the white smoke or are we looking towards blown head gasket as I have to keep revs high to avoid cut out. Thanks rich

Thick white smoke does usually indicate a blown head gasket. You can easily check this by checking the coolant level and then placing a plastic bag or balloon over the radiator/coolant fill opening and running the engine. A blown head gasket will bleed compression into the cooling system and thus into the radiator and fill the bag/balloon.

Hello other Mike. Long time.

The Micra isn't a car that's sold in the US. However, the body kit and headlight mods don't change anything about the vehicle. They're just stuff that's been bolted on by someone like you and me.
