Good day to you!
I understand the diagnostic code p0400 refers to a faulty EGR valve. I am fully prepared to replace it, have a great mechanic whom would charge just $40 for the work, I supply the parts. My question is. Is the EGR valve the only part that would need to be replaced for this job, or are there other additional parts involved that are also affected by this valve? Are there any gaskets, fittings, etc. In other words, I want to order all the parts needed for the tech to do the job right, the first time.
Thanks
John

There is a gasket you will need as well. Available at autoparts store for around $10-$15. However, I replaced the EGR valve on my car and the PO400 code didn't go away. I bought the replacement from the dealer, as well as cleaned the tubes on either side of the EGR valve but the code came back 2 days later. Still not sure what to do next.
