2001 Nissan Altima sensor name

My altima seems to sputter when I am idling. The check engine light is on and I had it put on a computer to find out the problem. The guy told me that the sensor that regulates the air flow to my engine had gone out, but he didnt tell me the name of the sensor. I want to buy it myself because I think I can fix it without paying to much. I just need the name of the sensor.
