According to computer code, I replaced the knock sensor. That code is cleared now and computer is reading good. However, the car still runs rough and has died on my wife. Have I missed something or does the system need to run longer to straighten out?

Hello,

Keep in mind that the vehicle can run rough due to having worn ignition components like spark plugs, wires, distributor cap, rotor etc.

Inspect the spark plugs for wear and carbon buildup and check the gap. The gap should be at 0.039 inch.

This issue can also be triggered by a faulty camshaft position sensor.
The cam sensor for this vehicle is located inside the distributor.

I have attached diagrams for your reference.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you.
