A couple of days ago, I noticed that my navigation screen was black with only the backlit showing, and this occurred as soon as I turned on the vehicle. Days later, I disconnected the battery and the inline diagnostic screen appeared. It ran for several seconds then froze with the HFL and Ng options in red. The screen is stuck this way and I have no way to get out of it. What could be my issue?

Thanks for visiting 2CarPros.

You may have inadvertently locked the Nav unit,

The codes for the navigation system should be in the pouch containing your manuals if its missing you will need to obtain the unit info following the directions below.

Turn the ignition switch to ACC (I).
Turn on the audio unit, and make sure you see COdE in the upper display. If you don’t see this message, pull the backup fuse for 1 minute, and then go back to step 1.
Turn off the audio unit.
Press and hold the top halves of the SEEK/SKIP and CH/DISC bars, and then press and release the PWR/VOL knob. This display toggles between two screens.
The first screen displays a U and the first four digits of the serial number (for example, U2200).
The second screen displays an L and the last four digits of the serial number (for example, L0055).
Ignore the U and L, and write down all eight digits.

Contact Acura or https://radio-navicode.acura.com/ with your Serial number and VIN and they will be able to provide the codes to you.

If the nav is still unresponsive snap a picture and upload and I can walk you through the next steps.
