My vehicle will start up but when I put it into gear to leave it starts sputtering and acts like it's not getting enough gas or maybe one of the vacuum hoses is faulty. I drive it everyday, and it'll start to run okay but then it just started acting worse the last day or so. It won't shift from 3rd to 4th gear, it'll go all the way up to 4,000 RPMs or higher and then it'll just start jerking back and forth, like lunging sort of. I've hooked up a computer such as the Zurich ZR4 Smog Status thing but I do not know how to read the codes.

Hi,

I'm not familiar with the scanner you mentioned. However, can you tell me the codes that you found?

At this point, I'm not sure which direction to go. At first, it did sound like it could be a fuel-related issue, but then you indicated the no-shift issue. That deals with a different circuit/component.

Hopefully, the codes will point me in a better direction. Also, take a look through this link. It will give you the definitions for different OBD2 codes. You may have an interest in seeing them.

Let me know.

Take care,
