I have a 2003 ML320. 1st problem is the front door will not lock. When I try it jumps a fe times but does not go down. If you open the door the alarm will go off. What do I do with this? 2nd problem: The back door on drivers side will not open from the outside and will only open from the outside. It has been spuradic but mostly doesn't work. Now the back passenger side is doing the same thing. This is something I will have to do on my own as it's just too expensive to have someone else do it. I acutally paid to have someon 'fix' the back drivers side door but it lasted all of a day or 2. What/How can I take care of this?

Can you move the drivers inside door lock by hand? If not then can you do it from the outside with the key in the key hole? If not then something in the lock is broken or stuck and the door panel will have to come off to find out further. If youre trying to lock the car then opening the door then you know your car alarm works because it should do that, you just shouldn't be able to open the door. Now for the rear, do you have those little tabs that keep kids from opening the rear doors when theyre inside the car? If so, check that they are in the grown up position. If they are and the doors still don't open from inside then its possible that you've got broken tabs on the door handles inside the door. Again the panels have to come off at that point

The front drivers door will lock manually with the key. It's hard to actually push the lock down while inside the truck. The rear doors only open from inside and cannot be opened from outside.

The linkages are probably broken for the outside handles. The front lock may need either lubricating or adjusting if it all works by hand and is hard to operate
