Noises problem
2003 Mitsubishi Galant 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I had a person get sick in my car driver side and I sprayed a hose into my drivers side floor board to get the rug wet and to try and clean. I then drove vehicle to car wash to finish. Th car started fine and drove okay. Dashboard lights seemed to be dim but when drove home and parked within 30 minutes alarm continued to sound constantly we would go out and turn off and still sounded. Did I get some wires wet? My husband is so mad as he said I probably messed up the entire electrical system and he unhooked battery. I did start the car up again and seemed to have no problem starting? He said when he looked under drivers side where fuse box or wires are it is wet. He unhooked battery and is totally upset. It was an honest mistake. PLEASE HELP AND ADVISE WHAT TO DO AS I AM AFRAID ALARM WILL KEEP SOUNDING WHEN HE RECONNECTS THE BATTERY? WILL IT HELP ONCE THE WIRES GET DRY. THANKING YOU IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR HELP:)

Hi pamarsyd,

If water is presen, it could cause shorting and the alarm to sound and prolonged use would cause other damages.

It is a good thing to disconnect the battery terminals. I would suggest using newspaper to absorb whatever water that is stillin vehicle. Flipping up the carpet would help.

Next thing to do is to use a hair dryer to dry up whatever components that had been subjected to water being splashed onto them.
