Stall at idle?

Usually if it is a sensor problem, it would throw a code. The explanation of the cold and hot sensor seems to be opposite of what I know off.
It should be the other way round.
Have you checked the Engine Coolant Temperature sensor?

You mean the thermostat? Because it was replaced awhile ago but way before this problem happened. Now I have never heard of a engine coolant temperature sensor, what are the symptoms of a bad one?

It can be anything from hard starting to stalling coupled with difficult restarting.
The ECU monitors the ECT to enrich the running when cold and if it malfunctions, it could result in stalling due to runing too lean or rich.

Yea I looked up some symptoms of a bad ECT I have the stalling and I have not noticed a decrease in fuel since lately I have been running it hard, but no black smoke. I would try to test the ECT but the service manual only tells me how to test it not uninstall it. But thanks for the quick response though. I think your the only person left helping me out with this problem lol

Engine coolant temperature sensor is located in back of cylinder head.
Remove radiator cap to release pressure in system. Close radiator cap toprevent coolant feom flowing out when sensor is removed. Disconnect ECT connector. Remove ECT buy loosening with appropriate tool, being careful not to damage connector.
To install, reverse removal procedure.

I will stick by you until we can get the problem resolved. There must be an answer somewhere and hopefully we can get to it.

Thanks again for the info. I am also going to change the plugs and wires since the car has 108,000 miles on it and I have owned it since 79,000 miles and they only thing that has been doing ignition wise is a plug and wire change on cylinder #3 and a cap and rotor change at the same time. So while I check the ECT im going to do a full plug and wire change as well to see if that helps out. Because im pretty sure that no one has changed them before I owned them

At 108k miles if the spark plugs had not been replaced yet, it should be long overdue. Sometimes when a problem cannot be resolved, we have to revert back to the basics and a tune-up as you are planning to do is the correct thing to start with.

Well sorry it took so long but I got the plugs and wires changed with some good ones (ngk plugs and wires) and it fixed the problem thanks for all the help
