My eclipse was running great. Went to drive it and it will turn over, fires, and the fuel pump seems to be coming on. Once it virtually cranked for a second and then cut right back off. What could be my problem?

I need you to check for 2 things, spark and fuel to the engine. One will most likely be missing. Here are the how to's for checking them.

Let me know what you find and then I can direct you. Also, remember that you may hear the fuel pump, but it may not be producing enough pressure to run the engine. Will the car start with starting fluid?

Had the fuel pump and filter changed about one year three months ago, car turns over but will not fire or will but only a couple of times after cranking it long enough, has done this now randomly three times. Will not start and then the next day starts and runs just fine. Will go three or four days and then will do it again. Tried jumping the car as well just to make sure it was not a low battery but seems to crank strong. There is a sound of about five clicks coming from the engine that I had not noticed before before turning the key fully to crank. It does not click like that every time trying to start it. It seems to be random when it happens. While driving in between these no start incidents, my engine light came on, took it to Autozone and another place, no code on the computer came up. Engine light stayed on that day, car ran fine. The next day the engine light was off and did not come back on. While I was having the engine light checked I noticed my door open light was on, I checked both doors they were secure but the light stayed on. Turned the car off and back on, the light went away. This was while the engine light was still active. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.
