1990 Mitsubishi Eclipse engine hunting

Just bought and put back on road 1990 eclipse, fuel injected turbo. Sat for seven years. Runs great except, engine will suddenly stop when driving and most of the time, resume. Once had to pull over and restarted immediately. Also when idling, idles fast, 1,600 to 2,500 rpm and hunts. Previous owner had the same problem. Any ideas?

Thank you for the donation.

Frist thing to do would be to try to retrieve for trouble codes. For the earlier models, some trouble codes do not trigger the CEL.

The most likely cause would be a faulty Idle Speed Control motor located below the throttle body.
