Misfiring engine?

So does it sound like a gun going off or does sound like popping coming from under the hood? Does this Ranger have a mass air flow unit? I believe it should if so get some mass air flow cleaner and remove it and clean it see what that does. Let me know how it goes and we go from there.

I have a 1995 Ford Ranger, it is 2 wheel drive, v6 3.0L. Its has 141000 miles. My number 1 and 3 cylinders are missing, I was wondering what could be causing this and how I could fix it. Thanks for your reply.

You may have the wrong spark plugs because I had the same problem. You have to have autolite or another brand because if you have Bosch spark plugs in, they only are made for import engines, and if that doesn't work, try replacing your ignition wires also.
