My car started misfiring a few days ago. It starts jerking like it is not getting enough gas. What could be the problem?

Good afternoon.

There are many possibilities for a missfire.

1. Spark plugs worn.
2. Ignition wires arcing out from open areas.
3. Low engine compression especially in one or more cylinders.
4. Injectors becoming clogged or solenoids have too high resistance.
5. Wiring issues to and from the injectors.
6. Mechancial issues internal in the engine such as camshafts worn, rockers or lifters.
