Airbag light goes on for awhile and then goes off. Sometimes it stays on until I turn the engine off but will do the same thing again a day or two later.

Now my left hand turn signals are not working. Front and back. Bulbs and fuse are good. Are these problems related?

Thanks

They might be related.
The best thing to do is to have the trouble codes pulled and that will tell you your electrical problem.
Any Auto Zone or Advance Auto will do this for free.

I don't believe AutoZone can pull Airbag codes. You will need an enhanced scan tool for that.

I recently purchased a 2001 Honda Accord EX V6 and while driving it home noticed that the SRS light was on. I stopped at a Honda dealership and had it checked out and they came back with six codes. Basically saying that I needed to replace my entire air bag system. They also discoved behind the steering wheel that some wires have been cut. The wires are coming out of a little yellow square connector and the wires that are cut are red. I've talked to the dealership that I bought the car from and they say that the air bags have been replaced. Could the wires that are cut be triggering the SRS light to stay on and for it to throw out codes telling me to replace the whole system? Do I have to replace the entire system or can I just replace the part in the steering wheel? Any help anyone can offer is greatly appreciated.

What dealership looked at the car? They must be idiots. If you have wires cut up under your dash in a yellow plug. Srs wires are always in yellow and if they are cut they will show those codes. If your air bags have been replaced that is a pretty good indication that the car was in an accident . Take the car to a good reputable body shop and have them look at it. If you have a honda dealership with a body ship that is prefered

I have a 2000 Honda Accord and a few months a go my SRS light came on. I didn't pay any attention to it untill my inspection came up and founfd out my Airbags would not deploy since the light is on. I did a few troubleshooting to reset the computer, but the light came back. I too it to the mechanic and they checked all the connections, fuses and the seat belt sensors were checked and they could not find the couse of the problem. Do you have any idea what could be the cause?

While driving my Accord a few days ago, I momentarily unbuckled my seatbelt to grab an object off of my dash. I re-buckled my seatbelt but the SRS light came on and will not go off. Do you have any information on how to troubleshoot this problem?

Thank you.

Hi Lew,

It means there is a problem with the Air bag system and it is not working.

Get a scan done to finds out which component is faulty.

Hi veritas0207,

SRS warning light does not mean the control Unit is faulty. Get a scan done to find out what is wrong.

The SRS light went on while I was driving one day. Is there a way to turn this off? I called Honda and they told me that they will charge me $100 for diagnostics. Is it worth it?

Thanks

Need to have it scanned for codes.
Knowing the codes will indicate troubled area.

It is your safety and or who is with you in the car.

Hi bigstevetas,

The seat belt being locked could be the cause for the SRS indicator light to be turned on.

You need to retrieve the trouble code to find out what is causing it.

I was taking my steering wheel cover off because it had slipped down over the plastic of the steering wheel frame and I took off the little cover and unplugged the yellow connectors so the airbag wouldnt accidentally go off and after making the adjustment to the cover plugged the yellow connectors back together and now the airbag lite wont go off. What do I need to do to get it off the car is a 1997 accord ex with 4cly vtec engine and auto trans and the car is in great condition and ready to go another 100,000 miles, but the dash light is pretty annoying so I want to get it back to normal Thanks
