1996 Mercury Villager Brake and Batter light

My brake and battery light keep flashing on and off at the same time. The engine runs rough. When I fill the antifreeze for my radiator, it goes down really quick. It's not leaking because i've checked it a few days after I fill it up when it is just sitting in my drive way and it is still full.

Have you had the alternator checked? Also, as far as the coolant, check to make sure there is no coolant mixing with the engine oil. Are you able to see any leaks? If it only happens when the engine is running, I would think it is the water pump. Check it to see if there is evidence of it leaking from the weep hole.
