THE VAN JUST SUDDENLY DIED WHEN WE SLOWED TO TURN, THEN WHEN I RESTARTED IT KEPT DYING UNLES I RACED THE ENGINE AND DROVE WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE AND THE OTHER ON THE GAS. CAN YOU TELL ME THE PROBABLE CAUSE AND HOPEFULLY A CURE I CAN DO MYSELF?

For a start might want to check the fuel pressure if its within specs -could be a failing fuel pump or a clogged fuel filter

Also check the idle air control valve/throttle position and mass airflow sensors to include the DPFE-EGR
