A couple of days ago I disconnected the battery to clean off some corrosion. I connected the battery back up and now the car wont start. Everything is tight.

I tried to jump the car. The first time I tried I was unsuccessful. When my car was connected with jumpers I would get the ding ding of the door being opened and I would get lights on the dash. When I turned the key I just got a little bit of a noise. It wouldn't start. I finally got it started somehow, and then when I turned it off I tried to start it again, I didn't get lights on the dash or anything. I let it charge for sometime.

I was only able to remove the negative terminal because the positive was too hard to get off. I did pour baking soda on it with water so I cleaned it some. I am just not sure what to do. When I hook it up to another car it will not start. I don't think it's the alternator or anything and the battery should be just fine. It just seems like whenever I cleaned it, something went wrong.

I will try to disconnect again and try to clean the other terminal. That is the only thing I can think of.

They were still dirty. Apparently when I cleaned them the first time some of the baking soda seeped into the inside with corrosion then dried.
