1997 Mercury Marquis Car breaks down suddenly

Hye ! ,

i own 1997 Grand maquis & lately I noticed a problem with my car. As I slow down at the traffic lights or stop to make a u-turn or right/left turn the car suddenly breaks down, I mean, the car turns off . I then have to start the ignition to move on . I don't why this is happening . Any help is appreciated . Thnx a lot

Has the check engine light come on? Also, check for vacuum leaks around the engine. If the engine is running, sometimes you can hear a hissing.
