I had the same problem with my car. I found the problem on a web site. Www. Eastcoastrollingthunder. Com/smf/index. Php?Topic=228.0
You can order a replacement gear to replace the broken one. The factory ones are very brittle and brake easly if you press the reset button while moving. I recieved my part in 5 days. Www. Supercoupeperformance. Com/partBrowser. Aspx?PartId=493

One word of caution though. Be carefull pulling off the needle. It bends and breaks easily. Good luck!
