1989 Mercury Cougar dash

I just bought this cougar used. The dash part for the
speed o meter is fading, I can see the fuel part really good but the rest is faded. You can see alittle when the lights are on at night, but during the day nothing really.
what do I need to do? Is it just a simple bulb or is it the whole dash? If I have to replace the dash where can I get one? I have heard that here in phoneix, az there is only 2 places that deal with the dashes that are digital and they run $800.00.
I only paid $900.00 for the car

Im in a similar situation as you are with the dash, my speedometer lights up fine but everything else is dim

So that part I couldnt help you with.

But as for replacing the digital dash, money wise, that part I can kinda help you with.
There should be an Oreilly Auto parts near where you are. I work at one and in my free time I kinda look around for random things for my car.
Have someone in there look on the everdrive website for a digital dash for you. I looked at one last friday and it was available from them for under 200 bucks I think it was like 154 and some change.
It takes like 5 days to get it, but its shipped right to your home.

But you need to have them check the Ever Drive website.

I was shocked at how cheap it was, even a transmission through them was extremely cheaper than going through our regular supplier.
