The knob in the inside of the car that shows you if the door is locked or unlocked was broken. I tried to fix it by opening the door & pushing the metal hook that locks the door all the way down & now the car door won't close. Before when the knob was broken you were able to close & open the door but you could only open the door from the inside. Now the hook that always the door to be close is completely down. Please help.

The metal "hook" that you are speaking of sounds like the door latch assembly which is located on the inside of the door jamb on the door side. When this is pushed down it does not allow the striker to align with the latch assembly, which it connects to. The remedy for this would be to release the latch. You can do this by pulling the door handle (interior or exterior) and it should release. If it doesn't release, put some pressure in an upward direction on the door latch while pulling the door handle. Also, if the door lock knob is pushed into the door it may be hanging up. Look in the door where the lock knob is located and if you see the threaded end of the door knob mounting hanging up on the inside of the door this must be freed up and allowed to pass freely through the hole in the door panel.
