Recently, obtained truck from my brother, had to replace rear main seal, no problem, then once we got the trans. Back in and all associated connections back in place.I had to replace the fuel pump(in tank)and new sock and both external fuel filters, truck cranks so easy and will take the gas when you are in park, but when you put it in gear(automatic), and drive off, it goes ok till it shifts to high gear, then it acts like it doesn't won't to take the gas unless you give it more and let the passing gear kick in. This is all I like to put the truck on the road.I'm very anxious to get it going, as I tried for 2 yrs. To buy this truck from my brother, but he would'nt sale it, but low and behold, finally he ended up just giving me the truck.

What year is it?

When was the last time this truck seen a major tune-up. Could be a load or throttle sensor- Vacuum leak/Ignition timing off.

Sorry, I did forget to mention the year;it's a 1987.
My brother says the wires and plugs are all braqnd new, but not sure about any of the other. I did replace several vacuum hoses, but not really sure what they were for, only know one was bad(cracked open), so I just replaced all I could with what hose I had on hand.I will check the rest and see what happens.I was told it could maybe the choke sticking, but when I looked at thr choke, I noticed that there should be 3 screws to loosen for adjustment, but some one has replaced the top 2 with pop-rivets.
