I was driving on the hwy and just lost all compression.
iI pulled over and the radiator cap was off and steam shot out from the radiator even though the temp gage said it was normal temp. After letting it cool and adding water I started back home but immediatly noticed it shakeing badley and had almost no power at all and I could here something was not rite. My truck had been running alittle rough but I just thought I needed a tune up. Anyway the next day I put new plugs and wires on it and even flushed the cooling system but no diffrence was noticed. Still no power and running very rough. What's going on with my truck?
Thanks.

Hi There.
I have a 1999 Mazda B2500 (4 cyl) and I, too, had a similar thing happen. I was on the hwy when all of a sudden the truck made a big clank sound and lost total compression. I could only drive about 10-15 mph and when I got home, I checked it thoroughly. When I rev the engine, a continuous clanking sound emanates from the head cover which indicates that there is possibly a loose valve or valves.

Another possibility could be that your seals or gaskets may be shot.
