I have just bought a Mazda Pick Up, and I have learned about timing belts and how they could damage the engine, and I know all vehicles are different, so what if my timing belt breaks? Will the engine stop running or will it overheat etc? Also, how much are timing belts? (Just the belt, no labour.) I would also like to know what the "Head Cleaner" fuse is for.
Thanks a lot.

Mr. T-Bone

If the belt breaks-the valves might break/bend and also could puncture the pistons and crack the head. In addition the engine will not start due to the valve and ignition timing being way off. You can have spark and fuel but it will never start.

The cost for the belt varies you just have to shop around for the best deal in town.
