What else could it be when you change the slave cylinder and it is still hard to change gears? Will be putting a new master cylinder on.

Check to see when you push the clutch pedal down, have someone check the slave cylinder on the bell housing to see if it is moving the lever back and forth. It maybe time to replace the clutch disc and pressure plate and throwout bearing.
