I turned the car off and took the key out when I opened the door it was like I left the key in the ignition the alarm was going off. I put the key back in and closed the door it stopped. I opened the door and took the key out and the alarm went off again as if the key was still in with the door open. I closed the door and the alarm went off so I went back to work, I came out 4 hours later and put the key in and nothing, no click nothing. I tried to jumper cables, nothing, I tried the lights and they were at full strength. Nothing else works. I did have a back-up key made the day before and thats what I was using. The ignition switch feels loose in the tumblers. It does have a remote start, that was installed years ago. Any ideas?

Hi jgd120,

Try using the original key and see if the problem disappears.

Hi jgd120,

If the key can turn freely, the ignition switch might have gotten loose and dislodged itselt.

Remove the steering column cover and see if the swicth is intact.
