1996 Mazda Protege Squeel when car is starting

When I start my car and mostly when I first start the car and when it is cold it makes this really loud and high pitched squeel. It lasts for a while and it helps if I dont have my lights on. I sometimes turn the car on and off several times and the squeel stops. Once in a while when I am driving it will start to squeel on me and if I push the cluch in all the way it ususally goes a way but that is only when I am driving. Do you know what it could be. Thanks

I owned one of those cars.
It sounds like the belts need to be tightened.
For whatever reason the belts have a tendency to stretch and require tightening from time to time.
