I did an engine overhaul on my vehicle listed above petrol. The engine oil pump seized before the engine could start. I fitted another oil pump still it seized again. What could be causing this problem?

Hello,

I'm not sure why the oil pumps you installed failed, but in the diagrams down below I have included the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) part number for the oil pump, torque specs for fastening it, and instructions from the manufacturer on the removal and installation of your vehicle's oil pump. Please go through these guides and get back to us with how everything goes.

Thanks,
Alex

It sounds like you got the crankshaft bearing in upside down and the oil supply holes are in the bearing cap not the block. Can you confirm the bearing is in correctly?

Hi, I confirm the bearings were fitted correctly. They can only fit one way.

Hello again,

If the correct oil pump was installed then the only thing that I can see that would cause the pump to fail would be that that oil pump hole in the block is plugged or the new oil pump didn't get properly primed prior to operation. Please let us know how things are progressing.

Thanks,
Alex
