I have a Mazda 626 GLX 1998, 2000 ccm, HB.

My problem is in relation with ignition.
When I try to run engine in morning hours, it takes up 5-10 seconds. Immediately after that If I off the engine and try again, it starts in a second.
The same situation is during the day if engine is off longer than 20 minutes and problem with starting appears again.
I suspect on some problem with cold ignition or electrical ignition circuit.
Please advise.
Thanks.

Maybe I haven't had enough coffee yet, but what are the symptoms?

Maybe the coolant temperature sensor is playing head games with the brain box making it think the engine is at normal temperature and also could be fuel pressure problem, regulator is not maintaining the static fuel pressure.

In a PM session, we seem to have established that the pump is not priming when the key is turned to the run position adn that the fuel seems to be bleeding back into the Tank. Causing a long crank.

Just not why it is doing that. Anyone?

I did find a TSB on the EGI relay, but wasn't direct on the type of intermittant no start.
