2001 Mazda 626 Can not free CV shaft from drivebox

Bought CV half-shaft assys for replacing original equipment CVs. Got the steering end torn down and the drive shaft removed from the wheel end.

Can not "pop" the shaft free from either left side half shaft or right side half shaft. What next?

You need the tool to pull it out. I usually use a pry bar but some times they get very stuburn. There is a tool that is used with a slide hammer. It looks like a horse shoe with a threaded end to hook the slide hammer to and you put it behind the inner joint and use the slide hammer to pull it out.
