Engine Cooling problem
1999 Mazda 626 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 160k miles

The cooling fans will not come on when required. I know they work because I disconnected them from thier plug-in and connected them directly to the battery. They did run. There must be a sensor that is not working is my guess. The temp gauge does work. Any thoughts on what is going on?

Hello and thanks for donating

Check your fuses and the cooling fan relay, if they are good than the PCM is probably at fault since it runs the fan, not a sensor.

PCM stands for powertrain control module and acts as the main computer for the vehicle.
