1993 Mazda 626 Auto repair estimate

So I heard clicking coming from the wheel area when a made a left turn and they said it was the sway bar link. My nephew insists that is the cv axle. They're going to charge me $406 dollars to change the sway bar link. Do you think it could be the axle? Or should I go through with fixing the sway bar link? How much should it cost to replace the axle?

That's too much for a sway bar link. I would look more at the cv axle. Have your nephew replace tha axle if he is able to. I have priced one latley (sway bar link)and it was only about 55.00. 350.00 for labor is more than a total rip off.
