Can an originally Japanese manufactured car with an LPG fueling system be converted and turned into a normal Petrol fueling system?

Hi Lemicka,

There are all kinds of conversion kits to convert a car to LPG but I am not finding many to change them away from it let alone when they are built this way from the factory.

What I would suggest is to contact a dealer and ask them if they have a kit to disable the system. Usually when an OEM makes one of these vehicles, they have a way to convert back and forth. If they don't allow it then they will be able to tell you that as well.

Unfortunately we are not dealing with a "bolt on" system that someone added and can be easily removed. This system has been designed into the vehicle and so it is not just easily unbolted. Sorry I can't be of more help.

I would think you are stuck with LPG. To convert it to petrol you would be replacing the entire fuel system from removing the LPG tank, installing a petrol tank and running new lines and EVAP system along with the parts needed on the engine for the conversion. That is a different intake and injection system along with a different ECM and some of the wiring harness. If you wanted to do it the easiest way would be to find a running version of the car in petrol and swap out all the pieces. However once converted it may not pass MOT/inspection as it now isn't the vehicle that matches the VIN.
