Loud pop when turning on the car?

I went to turn on the car and heard a loud pop as I was turning the ignition. The dashboard lights started flickering but electrical system like locks weren't working, the car won't turn on, the key won't go into ignition either now.

Hi,

Did the noise come from inside the vehicle, under the hood, or someplace other? Also, have you done a general inspection under the hood? It sounds like the battery failed.

Do me a favor. Try this simple battery load test at home and let me know the results. Note: You don't need any tools.

Let me know. Also, I'm not sure why the key won't go into the lock. Is the vehicle in park?
