My check hybrid system light is on. Scanned it. It says p3107. Lost communication with airbag. Please, how do I resolve it? The problem started shortly after I washed my car engine. I did further scan, and I am getting B1000.

So 9 times out of 10 it will be the spiral wire (clock spring) that sits behind the steering wheel.

P3107 - loss of communication with the airbag system control module
B1000 - Airbag ECU Malfunction

But we should check the airbag system fuses which are listed in the images below.

This guide can help:

If the fuses are good, I would swap out the spiral wire, here is how, make sure to disconnect the 12-volt battery before you begin. Check out the images (below). Please upload pictures or videos in your response of any problems so we can see what to help you with.

Good morning.
The problem has been resolved.
The airbag ECU was responsible.

Did it get wet after the engine washing or was it just a coincidence?

Good morning.

I think it's an issue with some Camry's. The airbag ECU is situated somewhere under the air con evaporator. Seems water due to condensation use to find it way to the base of the airbag ECU. Over time corrosion gets into the internal components of the ECU and cos it to malfunction.
All the airbag ECU that was brought to me with 3k mark on it has water corrosion at the base of the ECU. I discovered the board in the replacement ecu I got was coated with a protective film(varnish). While the original one that came with the car didn't have any varnish. This is obviously a minor issue Toyota would know about.
