Transmission problem
1992 Lincoln Town Car V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 149xxx miles

Hello there. MY 92 tc has a serious problem. Now, I'm not much of a mechanic but I really want to try to fix this problem myself. Now, I just recently had the transmission fixed about 4 months ago because this problem happend the first time. I was driving and all of the sudden a whole bunch of smoke came out of the rear end. I pulled over only to find out that trans fluid was pouring out of the bell housing. The car was running but was in park and still the fluid was coming out. When I had it fixed I was told that the problem was that the bearing for the front pump spun. Now, here I am 4 months later and without a vehicle. I really like this car and don't want to get rid of it. I just would like to know what the probable casues could be so that I can fix it without having to take it to the mechanic. Also, would it be worth it going to the junk yard and pick up a trans? My local junk yard only is charging around 150 for a trans. Thanks for your help.

Hi agon813, Welcome to 2carpros and TY for the donation

I don't see any type of bearing that will spun-the problem here is the front pump seal/oil pump body to case seal is leaking
