1999 lincoln cont. 4.6L V-8. Trying to replace alternator. Cant seem to find where tensioner for belt is. I got the alternator out and am having it rebuilt but am worried I wont be able to get it back in without loosening the belt. I haven't done much work on this car beforeso I dont know much about it; I just dont see any sort of tensioner. Please help.

I have a 1995 Continental and wanted to know how you would go about taking off the belt in order to replace the alternator?

I had a shop replace the belt for me because I had no idea how I was going to get the belt off as there is no room to even remove the belt.

I know you have to move the belt tensioner, but there really is no room. I am going to take a picture in the AM to show you guys what I mean.
