The car has had an ongoing electrical issue: the cruise would not set although the dash indicated it was operational; the clock and the lower half of the information control (trip, reset, dte/econ, system ) buttons do not light up, the driver door sensor frequently malfunctions to indicate open door, causing inerior lights to illuminate while car is stopped and also occasionaly cause alarm to sound while car is parked. I have lived with the peceding fo over a year/10,000 miles. The car had sat for a couple of months and now the brake lights will not function, (the third light on the deck works fine); the hazards and the directionals are also not functioning. I was informed that sometimes the wire as it gets routed through the turn stalk could present this problem. I disassembled the column to inspect the turn stalk and all appears well there. I was instructed to look at the brown wire at the top. I checked all and tey seemed fine. There is a clicking sound coming from the Light Control Module that ceases when the hazard swith is activted. When the directionals are swithced on the non flashing front side marker does illuminate.

Couple different things going on, lets go with the cruise first, if brake lights don't work cruise wont either, this is usually the green wire at the multifunction switch, see if it is secure, and both male and female pins are ok, if OK suspect the switch.
The Lights and door problem can be as simple as buy a can of brakekleen and a can of spray white lithium grease, spray the latch area, thats the claw in the door where it closes, spray liberally with brakleen, open and close the door 5-6 times, repeat, then spray with the white lube, open and close the door 5-6 times. Reapeat on all doors...Fix these first and report back...

If this gets into the LCM you will need a scan tool that can read and command the different modules...
