Car goes into limp mode normally around sixty mph however recently goes into limp mode in fourth gear and have to stop to reset limp mode. I have just got Wynns turbo cleaner (add to diesel type and Wynns Formula gold diesel system treatment (add to diesel) to see if this does the trick?
I was just wondering if you can put these two liquids in the engine at the same time? Also any other advise on how to fix this problem?

Regards,

Steven

Hello, I'm Danny.

Just a quick question first. Is the check engine light on or flashing? There has to be a reason car is going into limp mode.First thing I suggest is checking for any codes stored in your vehicles computer. If you don't have access to a scanner/code reader. your local auto parts stores have a tool loaner program and will rent you one. Here is a tutorial showing what is involved:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/checking-a-service-engine-soon-or-check-engine-light-on-or-flashing

Once this is performed get back to us with the code(s) and we'll be happy to diagnose your cars problem. Hope this helps and thanks for using 2CarPros.

Thanks Danny.

This limp mode problem has been going on for about five years now on and off. I did take it to a garage on two occasions and they said the error code related to the turbo, the first mechanic said it was the vanes sticking on the turbo so get a new one which would cost too much the second mechanic deleted the EGR valve and and said it may work but did not.
The turbo is always worse in the winter.

Do you think Wynns turbo and engine cleaner at the same time is a good idea?
Thanks Danny.

Thanks Danny. I will take your advice. But is it possible to use engine cleaner and turbo cleaner in the same diesel or would I need to use them separately?

Hello again.

Is that an additive you run through ported vacuum or something you add to engine oil or fuel tank?

Hello again.

An engines turbocharger uses a oil supply line coming from the engines crankcase. If you want to use an additive for your turbo you should use an additive that would be added into the engine oil. Hope this helps and thanks again for using 2CarPros.
