Lights will not turn off - draining the battery

The car has been sitting for almost a year. The battery is dead. When I try to jump start it, it ran for a while, but when you turn the car off, the lights will not shut off and it immediately drains the battery again. Is it some sort of electrical problem? Please advise.

Sounds like you need to start at the headlight switch then work your way towards the lights looking for a short circuit-start here
