I have a 1996 Lexus ES300 with 150000. I took it into Jiffy Lube a few weeks ago to get the oil changed. While getting the oil changed, I had them flush the power steering fluid. Now the car is leaking power steering fluid. I filled it up about 72 hours ago and it already is empty. Is it possible that the leak was caused by the power steering fluid flush not being done correctly, or is it possible that flushing the power steering fluid exposed some underlying leaks that were not so major because the power steering fluid was so old and gummy that it didn't leak as badly?

I'm wondering if I should take the car back to Jiffy Lube to have them look and make sure that they "put the car back together correctly, " or if I should take it straight to a repair shop (and if it's even worth fixing at this point.).

Thanks,
Allison

Did you notice a leak before you took it to jiffy lube? Both of your scenarios are plausible but I would bet the leak is due to jiffy lube not servicing the system properly.

Well, I'm pretty sure that the power steering fluid was low before I took it to Jiffy Lube, because it was making some of that "whrrrring" sound when I would turn the wheels, so it must have leaked at least some. But, after Jiffy Lube, it leaked to the tune of a half a bottle of ATF every couple of days.

Thanks for getting back to me.
