Knocking Noice front Left

Hi
I have a Citroen DS5 that has a knocking sound on the left front suspension and when I jack up the front wheels one at a time the left one needs to be jacked up much higher before it leaves the ground. The knocking sound was at first verry soft but now much louder. What can it be.
Being that Citroen has left South Africa everybody ells see it as permission to overcharge.
Therefore, I must do it myself.

Other than the knocking noise the driving experience is as it was with no shaking drifting or anything out of normal.

We don't have service information on that vehicle, however the description sounds like it could be either a suspension strut mount or the strut itself. Probably the easier thing would be to jack it up in the front, then take a picture of the right side, then use that to compare to the left side and see what is different.
