I started my van. It was running very good. No knocks or nothing started driving it and got two blocks from home and all at once a very loud knocking started. I thought the belt broke. I turned around and drove it home. There is a very loud slapping knock inside the motor. Oil is still full and clean. Not leaking oil either. Any ideas of what could have happened. Thank you.

Hello,

Please start by removing the serpentine belt and then start the engine to see if the noise is still there. This will tell you if the noise is inside of the engine or one of the accessories.

Please let us know what happens.

Cheers, Ken
